SI.EM Sistemi Elettromedicali S.r.l. announces distribution agreement for EasyCont P/Q™ incontinence diagnostic device.
MILAN, ITALY, DECEMBER 4, 2006 –SI.EM Sistemi Elettromedicali S.r.l. announced an exclusive distribution agreement with Uroplasty, Inc. (AMEX: UPI) to distribute EasyCont P/Q™ urodynamic diagnostic device. Under the agreement, Uroplasty has exclusive distribution rights in all countries except Italy. Uroplasty plans to begin marketing the EasyCont device in certain western European countries and the United Kingdom in early 2007.
SI.EM Sistemi Elettromedicali has been specialising for several years (since 1994) in the design and production of sophisticated equipment for the urodynamic diagnosis, which are widely used for the diagnosis of various pathologies involving the lower part of the urinary apparatus, such as urinary incontinence, especially the female incontinence and male prostatic obstruction.
The SI.EM Sistemi Elettromedicali products, autonomously designed and produced, are the most up-to-date and represent a concrete technological proposal in the urodynamic field, they are equipped with a software consisting of special characteristics, some of which make these products extremely competitive and interesting, SI.EM Sistemi Elettromedicali developed the EasyCont, which includes a patented Q-Tip device, for the diagnosis of urinary incontinence. This self-contained, portable and compact device enables surgeons to perform fast, repeatable and accurate diagnostic tests in the surgeon’s office, outpatient clinic or hospital daycase unit.
